Help Your Local Cat Shelter By Buying Litter

Help Your Local Cat Shelter By Buying Litter

This post is sponsored by Cat’s Pride but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

My cat, Skippy, was adopted from an animal shelter in Oregon with a very high kill rate. If cats were not adopted by the second Friday of every month, they were euthanized. The shelter simply did not have enough funds to care for so many cats, and day to day operations were difficult as it was. This dire situation made choosing a cat to adopt extremely difficult, as all of those sweet fuzzy faces were potentially incredible pets. We did leave with a neutered black and white male tuxedo kitten that day, but also carried sadness out the door for the ones we left behind. (more…)

I would love a magic bullet to make it all go away, but without going under a knife, it’s just not going to happen. Howeverrrrr, I have found a natural eye and lip gel that is very effective at battling back my signs of aging. (more…)

Spicy Pimento Cheese Spread

Spicy Pimento Cheese Spread

One of my most favorite Southern-inspired recipes is Pimento Cheese. I’ve taken the recipe home with me to Southern California, but made some modifications that I think you’ll love. I have taken out the traditional mayonnaise and cream cheese and substituted in tangy smooth non-fat sour cream in its place. In addition to the non-fat sour cream and low-fat cheddar cheese, I’ve also added some smoky paprika, garlic and jalapeño to spice things up! (more…)
