Do Cats Need to Detox? Supreme Source® Update

This is a follow-up blog post to my first post about putting Evil Skippy on a 10-Day Detox. My frisky kitty has completed the 10-Day Detox with Supreme Source® Pet food, and I’m excited to share the process with you all!

To recap, I am doing this detox cleanse because spring is about renewal, and it’s a great opportunity to rid Evil Skippy’s body of any questionable icky stuff that he may have ingested. Although he’s usually hanging out with me, as an indoor/outdoor cat, I really don’t know what he’s getting into outside!

Evil Skippy can be picky. I followed the instructions on how to gradually introduce the Supreme Source® Pet food over the 10-days. To start, I changed out 1/4 of his food to the new Supreme Source Pet food. Not thinking clearly, I simply added a 1/4 serving of the new food into his pet dish without mixing it up. He proceeded to voraciously eat only that new 1/4 pile of Supreme Source Pet food! Whew, he not only liked it, he LOVED IT. The daily transition and gradual increase went very smoothly from there on out!

One full week into the 10-day detox with Supreme Source® Pet Food, I noticed a significant behavioral change in Skippy. He usually sleeps most of the time, and I had previously chalked that up to his age (of 9 years old). However, Skippy was suddenly more active during the day. He was commanding of our attention and wanted more cuddles and hugs. He was also noticeably chattier! He is now greeting us when we come in through the front door with hearty meows, whereas before he would give a sideways glance and a ‘meh’.

Skippy started to act more kitten-like again. Case in point, I searched around the house for my phone charging cord and simply could not find it. I noticed Skippy was playing with something and dragging it around the floor. Ah, found my cord! I also remembered why I renamed him ‘Evil’ Skippy.

I, of course, use ‘Evil’ Skippy in jest. I love our funny, devious kitty and am excited to see him being more active and playful again. Who knew that a simple diet change could bring on such a dramatic change? Thinking about it further, as a ‘healthy food blogger’, I wouldn’t feed my family processed junk food, so why would I feed low-quality food to my cat?

Just as I feed my family fresh ‘real’ food, I want the same for my pets so they may also enjoy digestive, emotional and physical health benefits. As Supreme Source is a premium grain-free diet that’s packed with healthy enzymes and prebiotics, Skippy’s system is truly being detoxed and he’s feeling rejuvenated!

The #SuperFoodSwitch diet is packed with healthy enzymes and prebiotics to cleanse and rejuvenate our furry friends, inside and out. It also contains a healthy blend of fruits and veggies, which are natural sources of potassium, fiber, vitamins and minerals. I found my Supreme Source® Chicken Meal & Turkey Meal Dry Cat Food at my local Vons store, a branch of Albertson’s.
