A Hand Sanitizer with Probiotic? Yes, Please!

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.

Back to school season means more germs come through my front door! Although I do my best to sanitize my kid when she gets home, I take evasive maneuvers to dodge germs while out and about. I went to lunch the other day and the waitress swooned over how I smelled. I suppose THAT statement could use some more backstory!   I’m sort of a freak about germs, especially around cold & flu season, so after I finish ordering and touching a germy menu, I sanitize my hands. I used the new Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil Probiotic Hand Sanitizer with Lavender and the waitress stopped telling me about the specials and wanted to know WHAT THAT AMAZING SMELL WAS.  I proudly showed her the cute little bottle of hand sanitizer and told her that all of the Desert Essense Probiotic Hand Sanitizers smell divine.

They are available in three pure, botanical-infused formulas, including cleansing Tea Tree Oil, invigorating Tea Tree Oil & Lemongrass and calming Tea Tree Oil & Lavender. These hand sanitizers kill 99.99% of most common harmful germs while delivering good bacteria courtesy of probiotic-packed Kefir, which leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth without a drying effect.

As I mentioned, I am a germaphobe so I’m constantly cleaning my hands. When I do go out, I prefer to sit away from people and outside. Case in point…ahh, solitude.

Grocery shopping? That shopping cart is gross – sanitize! Grab a condiment off a table at a restaurant? Sanitize again. Public doorknobs? Ew, emergency cleanse! All of these public surfaces provide opportunities for germs to transfer to me, and then my phone, my steering wheel, eek – my eyes, nose, mouth and then bam – I’m sick! Getting sick is a complete waste of time, so I love products that use natural ingredients AND are so beneficial to my family’s health.

What’s different about the Desert Essence Probiotic Hand Sanitizer vs the other ones is that they do NOT dry out my hands! I simply add a few drops, rub my hands together quickly until dry, and yet my hands are left soft and scented. I’ve been scolded by friends on many occasions that I’m killing the GOOD bacteria. To that I say – Not anymore, my friends.Desert Essence Probiotic Hand Sanitizer

The Desert Essence patented technology creates a “membrane” around the probiotic to protect it from the antibacterial formula. Probiotic benefits will be delivered after the sanitizer activity completes. This means the sanitizer doesn’t kill the probiotic, and the probiotic doesn’t neutralize the sanitizer. The bad bacteria is eliminated, and the probiotic thrives. Here are the CDC Guidelines for using Handsanitizer by the way.

There’s no sticky residue, which I think is just about the worse sensation ever. When I sanitize, I want to feel clean, not goopy with glitter.  The scents are very herbal and pack a punch (hence why my waitress was overtaken by herbal garden bliss scent!), but it quickly evaporates so I’m not walking around smelling like a lavender farm, although I don’t think I would mind if I did!

I recommend getting the larger 8oz bottle size and then a 1.7oz purse size. Simply refill from your larger bottle as your supply gets low!
