I was excited to get my hands on the new Hume Band as I’ve been a long time Hume Body Pod user. I have to admit, it took me weeks to fully explore all its features. The amount of data this device provides is incredible, and the AI needs time to learn your body’s unique patterns to create a personalized profile.

Here are some of the tracked data points that help combine my daily metabolic capacity and momenm score.

  • Steps – all of my daily activity steps
  • Sleep (detailed info on HOW I’m sleeping – REM, Deep Sleep, Light Sleep and Awake Time) I can track inflammatory triggers (sleep disruptions, recovery failures)

Hume Band Metabolic Momentum

  • Heart Rate – monitors me all day long! Watching for Cardiovascular strain (abnormal HRV, resting heart rate trends)
  • HRV (I’m obsessed with this one!) HRV tracks the tiny variations in time between heartbeats. It’s a sign as to how well my body adapts to stress and recovers from physical activity. 
  • Stress Level – I can see my stress levels on an hourly basis (definitely spot on)
  • Body Temperature – This is important because of Autoimmune & immune system shifts. Body temperature anomalies may indicate prolonged fatigue markers!
  • SpO2 – This measures how well blood is carrying oxygen, which is a key component to energy and well-being

All of these data points give me a Metabolic Momentum score and targets to work towards each day as everything is in real time (based on my personal data). For example, when I work out, I am given a target to try and reach or “Strain” and this is broken down in various intensity levels by minutes. I only need a FEW high high-intensity minutes a day, so it makes me want to boost my Metabolic Capacity. I am then also shown Recovery time needed after I exercise. Again, like a battery that charges up and down, I need to do certain activities a day in order to reboot and recharge my Metabolic Momentum.

I love that the Hume Band also provides Sleep Recommendations. Sleep is what I struggle with the MOST, so I find this data super useful. Sometimes looking at my nightly breakdown is a little horrifying as I seriously lack deep sleep, but it the Hume Band will make suggestions as to when to go to bed for the day and when to wake up to ‘reset’ myself. I would NEVER have this information without this smart tool!

Finally, if you have the Hume Body Pod, you’ll be pleased to know that you will use the SAME Hume App. They Pod and Band operate independently of each other, but the app will integrate the data from both devices, providing an even more holistic view of body composition and activity, sleep and stress patterns. Wearing the Hume Band – Things to Know

The band is waterproof (can go up to depths of 32 feet) and the charge lasts for about 5 days. It connects to my phone’s FREE (no subscription required!) Hume app via Bluetooth to give me my daily report. The band is made from a durable SuperKnit bands, but flexibly designed to be worn off your wrist 24/7. I just washed my recently in the sink and it still looks brand new!

✅Getting Started –  Unlike a fitness tracker, the Hume Band doesn’t just read your daily activity and spit out numbers.  With the Hume Band, you will need to wear it for at least 1-2 weeks for the AI to learn more about your body’s biomarkers. It will then analyze your daily biomarkers and create a real time picture of your daily metabolic momentum score.

✅ Hume Band Tip: I was not getting a great reading while sleeping a few days. I reached out to Hume and they told me to spin the device around so the nodes are under my wrist and that did the trick! You want to have a snug fit while sleeping.

I can still do my body composition tracking on the Hume Health Body Pod, but I love that I can see all of my data on the one free Hume Health App. They do offer a subscription for more customized Fittrack workout and education programs if that is of interest, but it is not required.

✅ Hume Band Tip: I find that a Fast Charging C Plug and Cord are BEST for charging the Hume Band to max capacity.

✅ Hume Band Tip: I like to charge my Hume Band when I’m working on the computer. As I’m sedentary, it’s the perfect time to juice it up without really interfering with my Metabolic Momentum.
