As we have been home so much, the doors have been open to let the fresh air in, but we’ve inadvertantly let a lot of Springtime pollen and dust in as well. The rush of air has also stirred up pet dander and hair inside our home. Although I vacuum like an insane person, it seems like there is never a shortage of hair from my fuzzy housemates!
All of the extra particulates in the air have flared up our allergy symptoms like itchy eyes, sneezing and even sinus issues. I am so happy to finally have a product that I can turn on to clean my air space! The large sized Okaysou AirMax8L has five steps of air purification.
When I first received the Okaysou AirMax8L, I closed up the living room doors and windows and let it run for the rest of the day. I let the cat play in the box that it came in.
The first thing I noticed is that the lingering garlicky smell from lunch went away within an hour or so. Several hours later, I noticed the air just seemed fresh – and not stale. I absolutely love to cook, but food smells that hang around are a huge pet peeve, so it’s great to know that the AirMax8L can tidy up my air space quickly. This machine can clean up to 800 square feet!
The second day I had the machine, I put it in my bedroom as that is where my old Golden Retriever sleeps at night (on her big comfy bed). I love my dog and she will always stay in my room, but the pet hair and dander can NOT be good for nighttime rest! I do often wake up with clogged sinuses in the morning. I chalked it up to our damp environment here by the coast. However, lo and behold, after running the unit in my room all day and then setting the timer so it would shut off as I went to sleep, I woke up with CLEAR sinuses. My husband also noticed an improvment in our bedroom air quality – another bonus, any trace doggy smell was completely undetected.
Now I’m struggling as to where to keep this awesome air cleaning machine! I may order another so I can have one for my living room and one for my bedroom. If you have allergies or notice that you are waking up congested, it’s probably because you have dirty air!
The AirMax8L has the following purification levels:
- Pre-Filter – which captures large particles such as pet dander, dust and pollen.
- HEPA Filter – removes 99.97% of particles as small as .25 microns.
- Antimicrobial Filter – inhibits various bacteria and the sterilization rate reaches up to 99.9%! In a time when we are trying to keep our air space germ-free, this is AMAZING!
- Activated Carbon Filter – Absorbs volatile organic compounds and further removes toxic substances such as formaldehyde and other household odors. How I wish I had this when we were doing house remodeling! Living with stinky paint and new flooring smell was torture!
- Cold Catalyst Filter – Decomposes and captures ammonia, VOCs, hydrogen, etc.
That’s a LOT Of powerful cleaning! There are TWO filters that can be changed out every 6 months to keep the machine running at peak performance. The minute I got my AirMaxXL, I went online and bought the replacement filters and put a note on my Google calendar as to when I will change them out next.

The AirMax8L circulates air up to 1.5x per hour in a room size of 800 sq.ft / 3x per hour in 500 sq.ft / 5x per hour in 320 sq.ft, often used in small to large room, living room, bedroom, basement, kitchen, and office. Ideal for home with dogs or cats.
You may adjust the speed of airflow as well as set a timer should you only want it to run for a set time per day.
A big and predictable part of living in California is that we have come to expect Fall fires. Sometimes the smoke that comes towards us near the ocean just hangs. Black, thick, choking haze can hang over us for days. I am so pleased to know that SHOULD this happen this Fall, we are completely prepared to keep the air inside our home fresh, clean and healthy.

There are also other sizes available for smaller rooms, but I am just a HUGE fan of the 8L and recommend sizing up if you can.
