Summer 2023 Better For You Product Showcase

Summer 2023 Better For You Product Showcase

While most of the country is sweltering, we are still chilling here in San Diego in the low 70s. It feels a little odd to be so much cooler than the entire country, but I’m not complaining! I know our time will come in September when we have our REAL summer.  While at home, I’ve had the chance to test out some ‘better for you’ products, and here are the ones that I’m adding to my favorites list.

Tulua Ginger Shots

These delicious cold-pressed shots are made with organic ginger juice.  At 2 fl oz. each, these immune-supporting shots are available in different flavor combinations.

From Pineapple Ginger (so delicious!) to Apple Ginger, Pomegranate Ginger, Lemon Ginger, and more. Click here to visit the Tulua online Ginger Shot Store!

MyCHELLE’s 3-in-1 Super Serum

This sheer tinted serum truly does it all – moisturizes, protects from UVA and UVB rays, and provides a weightless dewy finish that looks polished yet fresh. 3-in-1 Super Serum is made with hyaluronic acid, vegan squalene and SPF 30 broad spectrum protection. Vegan, cruelty-free and Certified by the Clean Label Project, an independent third party that tests for product purity, the serum contains no parabens, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, ureas, artificial fragrances, or artificial colors. MyChelle 3-in-1 Super Serum comes in light/medium and medium/dark shades.  To give you an idea of how it feels, if you have ever used hyaluronic acid, it’s watery and absorbs really well. This is the same feeling when it goes on except you’re getting the extra benefit of the squalane and sunscreen with a very light tint!

$28 and Whole Foods stores (the Light/Med and Med/Dark are exclusive to Whole Foods), MyCHELLE and Amazon!

RDCL Radical Elements Superfood Blends

Do you like water boosters? So do I, but I want them to be FUNCTIONAL and actually be good for me! Flavor enhancers are nice, but it’s even better when there’s a health benefit. The RDCL Superfood Blend is a powdered drink mix that is the perfect products to keep you hydrated on the go! As we all know, good hydration is crucial, but it can be challenging when you are traveling.

To the rescue comes RDCL Radical Elements Superfood Blends. Think of these powdered mixes as “water upgrades” – both in terms of taste and nutritional value. These powdered drink boosters not only taste yummy but contain a blend of antioxidant superfruits, hydrating coconut water, vitamins, minerals and botanicals. Passion Fruit is a perfect morning pick-me-up that boosts focus, productivity, and energy to help you power through fasting hours. Dragon Fruit Superberry has stress-relieving and calming benefits and also offers immunity support. Bonus – they’re vegan and each serving contains only 10 calories. RDCL is short for “radical,” which describes the approach the company is taking to transforming ordinary foods and beverages into healthier, more functional versions of themselves. The passion fruit mix is my absolute favorite!  Click here to shop the RDCL Superfood Blends.

Sallye Ander “No-Bite-Me” All Natural Bug Repellent & Insect Repellent – Anti Itch Cream

This natural multi-purpose bug repellent is the best one I’ve found to date! I really can’t stand the strong scent of citronella, so I love that cream has active ingredients including mint, lemongrass, and cedarwood. Not only does is smell nice, but it’s great to keep pesky mosquitos and biting flies away, but no synthetic fragrances added. It’s safe for kids, and bonus – if you DO get a bit, this cream helps take the itch out.

Truth be told, I would liberally apply this to my legs before I went outside in Florida, and it kept my legs moisturized and repelled bugs. I may have used more than I needed, but I really did enjoy the scent!  You can find it on Amazon here.

I ate Oysters in July and Survived

There is a well-known food adage that says you should only eat oysters in a month that has an ‘r’ in it.  If you are risk-adverse, stick with that sage advice. However, I like to test boundaries, so let’s investigate this dire shellfish warning.
