If you haven’t heard about CBD by now, then you’ve been living far away from civilization, up in the mountains with goats as friends and no internet, which actually sounds pretty amazing now that I think about it. However, since you HAVE heard about CBD, maybe you’re still unsure what it is exactly.
To cut to the chase, CBD or Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis/hemp plant. It is NOT THC. It does not make you high. As it has less than .03% THC, it is generally legal and that’s why you probably have seen it advertised everywhere, or have seen it in your local drug store – they are even putting it in food and beverages now! Many people are now taking CBD on a regular basis for pain management. Pain is typically caused by inflammation and it’s not great for your body. Obesity and unhealthy eating increases inflammation in the body, but even otherwise healthy people who experience chronic inflammation because of an autoimmune disorder—such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, or celiac disease—appear to have a higher risk of heart disease, regardless of their weight or eating habits. Studies have shown that CBD can reduce inflammation and alleviate pain from conditions such as Arthritis, Joint Paint and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
