As a fan of low sugar Halo Top ice cream, I was super excited to try the new GATSBY Chocolate created by the same Halo Co-Founder. GATSBY touts that it is the lowest-calorie chocolate bar on the market, but how does it taste?
When I received the package of GATSBY bars to sample, I was a little hesitant to open them because they are GORGEOUS. Hello…LOOK AT THEM! Colorful with gold embossing; so fancy!

Upon opening the Sea Salt Extra Dark Chocolate and breaking off a square, I noticed that the heat from my fingers started melting the chocolate instantly. Wow, this is REAL chocolate! I’ve tried other low-sugar chocolates and for the most part, they have the consistency of a brick. This GATSBY dark chocolate was creamy and had a melt-in-the-mouth texture, but the flavor was even more impressive. It was sweet and rich tasting but with no funny sugar alcohol or chemical taste. GATSBY Chocolate wisely uses allulose. Allulose is a rare sugar that naturally occurs in fruits like figs and raisins and it’s about 70% as sweet as sugar. Therefore the GATSBY Chocolate is low sugar at only 2 grams of sugar per serving!

I’m going to get some for friends and family and some for me to go eat all by myself, guilt-free.
