This is not your average tea drink! This refreshing tea-infused smoothie packs a flavorful punch and is easy to prepare with a little planning. By seeping Stash Lemon Ginger Tea and then making ice cubes in advance, it’s easy to whip up a quick and delicious smoothie within seconds.
I used the Stash Lemon Ginger tea because it’s an interesting blend of ginger root, lemongrass, lemon flavor, safflower, hibiscus, and citric acid. This lively combo pairs really well with sweet juicy blueberries.
This is a caffeine-free drink that will wake up your taste buds, but not get you wired, so it’s perfect any time of the day. My daughter loves it as an afterschool snack as it’s also very satisfying!
My version is Vegan, but you may substitute out with real milk if you’d prefer.
Lemon Ginger Tea Blueberry Smoothie
Gluten-Free, Vegan, Caffeine-Free
You Will Need
- 3 Bags of Stash Lemon Ginger Tea
- 4 Cups of Water
- 2 Ice Cube Trays or Mini-Muffin Pans (You will need 4 ice cubes per drink)
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Blueberries
- 1/2 Tablespoon Quality Honey
- 3/4 Cup of Oat or Almond Milk (unflavored)
- 1/2 Tablespoon Hemp Hearts
How to Prepare:
Bring water to a boil and then turn off heat. Seep 3 bags of Stash Lemon Ginger Tea for about 8 minutes.
Pour the concentrated tea into the ice cube trays or muffin tins and place in the freezer.
Once the cubes are solid, I empty them into a plastic bag so it’s easy to access them later for quick smoothie making.
Using a bullet blender, add in 4 frozen Stash Lemon Ginger Ice Cubes, blueberries, milk and honey.
Pulse until the drink is smooth and the ice is completely broken up.
Pour into a glass and top with hemp hearts. They add a bit of healthy vegan protein and the texture is also fun in this smoothie!
