Artisan Turkey Sandwich with Homemade Garlic Pickles

Artisan Turkey Sandwich with Homemade Garlic Pickles

This post is sponsored by Bistro Favorites, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Why go out to purchase an artisan sandwich when you can make one at home? Please excuse my humblebrag, but my turkey sandwich is gourmet tasting because as I use quality, fresh ingredients. I love turkey sandwiches and I am very particular as to what I buy for my family. I prefer Bistro Favorites 100% Natural Sliced meats because they are all natural with no artificial ingredients or nitrates.

We love sandwich ‘additions’ in this household, so I will often whip up a batch of super garlicky pickles to pair with sandwiches or munch on throughout the week.

These crunchy tangy pickle add-ons pair perfectly with Bistro Favorites 100% Natural Black Forest Turkey Breast. Bistro Favorites sliced meats are made old-school, just like my pickles! The 100% natural sliced meats are crafted in small batches in parchment paper-lined baskets. They are then hand-rubbed with spices and seasonings and smoked in real hardwood. In addition to the Black Forest Turkey Breast, Bistro Favorites 100% Natural also offers Peppered Uncured Peppered Beef, Rotisserie Seasoned Oven Roasted Turkey Breast, and Uncured Black Forest Ham.

Here’s my recipe to make delicious Garlic Pickles to pair with your artisan turkey sandwich!

The recipe makes 4  jars.

You Will Need:

  • 8 Pickling Cucumbers (Gerkins)
  • 2 Tablespoons Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Pickling Spices (mustard seed, black peppercorns, red pepper flakes)
  • Fresh Dill (1/4 cup, chopped)
  • 16 Cloves of Garlic (4 per jar, chopped)
  • 2 Cups Vinegar
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 4 Mason Jars

How To Prepare:

Boil vinegar and water in a stockpot pot.

Stir in salt, sugar, and spices. Once the liquid has come to a boil, turn off heat.

Wash cucumbers and slice into 1/4″ slices. Pack slices into clean mason jars with freshly chopped cloves of garlic and chopped dill into each jar.

Fill each jar with the hot liquid with spices. Seal with lids and place in the refrigerator. Pickles are best if they sit overnight in the fridge.

Layer your delicious artisan sandwich with your favorite bread rolls, condiments, Bistro Favorites 100% Natural Black Forest Turkey Breast, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and some pickle wedges. Or, stack the wedges creatively on top of the sandwich and enjoy!
