5 Exciting Collaborations Between Fashion and Interior Design

It has been a fantastic year for collaboration between fashion and interior design! We have seen several brands fuse and twist their products to produce the most striking accessories, clothing, and design items, bearing a delightful and uncanny resemblance to each company involved. From Versace Home to Dolce & Gabbana, there are lots of collaborations happening. Here is a list of some of my favorites.

  • Versace Home

Since 1979, Versace has been well-known for its amazing Italian-made ready to wear and leather accessories. However, recently Versace has added a new line of products to their portfolio – Versace’s lifestyle products. These products neatly capture the metropolitan flair of this legacy line.

From Versace dog accessories to vases, cheetah sculptures and towels, there is a huge range of amazing Versace products for you to choose from. Most of these items can be found at SSENSE.com. This Montreal based fashion platform was established in 2003 and serves over 150 countries. With a mix of luxury, avant-garde, and streetwear labels, they have everything you could possibly need for yourself and your home.

  • Dolce & Gabbana & Smeg

Dolce & Gabbana and Smeg have worked together on several occasions in the past e.g., the Dolce & Gabbana Smeg fridge. However, although their past products should not be overlooked, their latest lifestyle collection is even better. This time around the brand has created some brightly colored juicers, coffee machines, teapots, toasters, blenders, and mixers, all of which have been hand-painted with Sicilian prints. This is a reference to Dolce & Gabbana’s design heritage.

  • Fendi

A few months ago, Instagram was flooded with pictures of Fendi’s latest collaboration between fashion and interior design. The Fendi armchair of a thousand eyes was launched at the Salone del Mobile in Milan last year. Designed by the Campana brothers, a Brazilian duo, the chair is made up of more than 100 of the brand’s bag bugs. Costing over $50,000 this amazing product does not come cheap, but it is guaranteed to be popular for many years to come.

  • House of Holland and Habitat

In 2020, Habitat and House of Holland teamed up to launch a whole new range of interiors. This range includes an assortment of throws, rugs, cushions, and upholstered furniture in the bright and bold colors of the brand.

  • Bottega Veneta

Another collaboration between fashion and interior design worth discussing is Bottega Veneta. Bottega Veneta is an Italian fashion house known for its leather goods, but its homeware line, launched over 14 years ago, is also becoming more popular. From soft furnishings and furniture to tableware, home fragrances and lighting, each of the designs is luxurious and modern with sumptuous textures and clean lines.

There has always been an unbreakable bond between fashion and interior design. In fact, we can track this relationship back to the 18th century, when both industries used similar materials. Not only did they share similar fabrics, but they also shared the same aesthetic concepts too, such as form, shape, and space. The parallels between interior design and fashion are multiple. Fashion and interior design both represent something personal, aiding people to be unique, creative and understand other people and the world around them. From Versace lifestyle products to the Dolce and Gabbana Smeg fridge, there are lots of exciting collaborations going on. Which one is your favorite?
