Within minutes of landing in Costa Rica, I received a weather alert on my phone. An unrelenting heat wave baking the country was being coupled with exceptionally high ultraviolet radiation, triggering urgent public health warnings across Costa Rica. As we were headed to the beach to swim and relax, I had concerns about how much sun exposure we were going to have.
As a seasoned traveler (and by seasoned, I mean older – haha), I am in the phase of repentance for the way I’ve treated my skin as a kid. I now wear big hats, lots of sunscreen, sun shirts – the whole anti-aging enchilada, so to speak. I was sent some Franz Skincare Naked Sunshield Peptide Patches to review and I could not have been more excited!
These thin all-day UV under-eye patches block 98.1% of UV-A and 99.9% of UV-B rays and there’s no need to reapply. They are both water and sweat-resistant.
They are ultra-light and ultra-clear – once they are on, I could barely feel them at all. However, there’s a learning curve in the application. Despite watching this video on how to apply the patches, I should have put them on before I left for the beach.
I would have had a smoother application with a mirror in front of me. Regardless of the little wrinkles I created in the patches, they were extremely comfortable. I wore my sunglasses over them and they were not very visible after they set in.

A lovely peptide goes over the patch after application, making it feel smooth and hydrated.
