Inexpensive & Natural Teeth Whitening
Teeth Whitening kits can run from $20 and up, and Zoom procedures $300+. Although these methods are effective, here are some ideas to keep teeth pearly white the natural way.Baking soda is a well-known tooth whitener. I keep a small tub in my bathroom and lightly sprinkle some powder over my brush, after I have used regular toothpaste. I get a small amount of water on the brush, and then mush the pastey goo around my teeth. Brush lightly and rinse.
Some people prefer to add an extra kick to their baking soda by adding a fruit acid.
You need:
1 ripe strawberry
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 ripe strawberry
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Directions: Crush the strawberry to a pulp, then mix with the baking soda until blended. Use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth. Leave on for 5 minutes, then brush thoroughly with toothpaste to remove the berry–baking soda mix. Rinse.
Do not use fruit acids in the manner TOO often, as the acids could wear away your enamel faster.
Other natural ideas:
Rub the inside of an orange peel on discolored teeth to allow them to take on excellent white luster.
Dried and powdered Bay leaves mixed with dried orange peel are also a great whitener.
